| Through encounters with creatures in aquarium, please feel the wonder of life and the abundance of sea |

The modern technology of today can cause problems by people
without knowing the true appearance of creatures as they imagine is as
if they know everything. It is therefore important for people to know how
other living creatures and their lifestyle are to become more aware of
the importance for the protection of nature. Especially for the younger
it is necessary to experience such for our future.
Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium does not only function as a facility for
social education and recreation, but being aware of the importance of protecting
and conserving wildlife, it also devotes itself to reproduce and protect
endangered species rather than merely exhibiting them.
The theme of South Building, which opened in 1992, is “A Journey to the Antarcticモ
which is like a voyage taking you from Nagoya down to the Antarctic, across
the “Marine life Around Japan”, “Deep Sea Gallery”, “Tropical Marine Life”,
“Australian Freshwater Life” and “Antarctic Marine Life”. In those 5 different
water areas you can see how various species have adapted respectively to
each environment and also succeeded in reproducing their descendents.
The theme of North Building, which opened in 2001, is “During their long
journey of 3.5 billion years- these animals have returned to the ocean”,
where a killer whale, beluga and dolphins are shown with their performances
how their intelligence can be quite the same as that of the human being.
At Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium you can see the wonders of life and grow
and also for the human being to become aware of the importance for protecting
such which cannot be imaged with high technologies.
Please come and visit our Aquarium to experience it! |
